Flyleaf built their reputation on a sound that blends heavy riffs with emotionally charged lyrics, a combination that pushed their 2005 self titled debut album past platinum status with over a million copies sold. The Belton, Texas band toured relentlessly in support of it, sharing stages with Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace, while singles like "I'm So Sick", "Fully Alive", "All Around Me", and "Sorrow" made inroads on both mainstream rock and Christian rock charts. "I'm So Sick" even turned up in the film Live Free or Die Hard, which didn't hurt their profile any. Their second album, Memento Mori, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard charts in 2009, showing real staying power. Things got complicated when lead vocalist Lacey Sturm left just before the release of third album New Horizons in 2012, with Kristen May stepping in to front the band. May held that role until 2016, after which the band went quiet for several years. Then in November 2022, Flyleaf announced that Sturm had rejoined, bringing things full circle.
