FM have been at it for over forty years, which makes them one of the longer running acts in British melodic rock. The band came together in the summer of 1984 when vocalist Steve Overland and guitarist Chris Overland, both previously in Wildlife, joined forces with drummer Pete Jupp and bassist Merv Goldsworthy, who had come from Diamond Head and Samson. Keyboardist Didge Digital completed the lineup, and FM signed to CBS/Portrait before the year was out, heading to Germany for early shows with Meat Loaf. Tours alongside Tina Turner, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Journey and Thin Lizzy helped build a serious international following through the late eighties. After a twelve year break, the band returned to the stage in 2007 for a headline slot at a sold out Firefest IV in Nottingham Rock City, and the warm reception pushed them back into the studio. Since their 2010 comeback album Metropolis, FM have stayed remarkably busy, releasing records including Rockville and Rockville II, Heroes And Villains, Atomic Generation, Synchronized, Thirteen, and Old Habits Die Hard, their fourteenth studio album. Brotherhood followed on Frontiers Music Srl.
