About
Also known as: Fog Hat
Foghat built their reputation on gloriously no frills boogie blues, the kind of hard rocking sound where Rod Price's electric slide guitar did the heavy lifting. Formed in London in 1971 by three former Savoy Brown members, they relocated to the US and spent the seventies racking up gold records. Their biggest moment came with "Slow Ride" from 1975, a song so deeply embedded in classic rock radio that it practically defines the era. The live album that followed went double platinum, outselling everything else they put out. Foghat have weathered lineup changes, breakups, and the deaths of founding members Dave Peverett and Rod Price, yet Roger Earl has kept the band going decade after decade. Their catalogue runs to 17 studio albums, and they are clearly not done yet, releasing new music as recently as 2024 with the track "Black Days and Blue Nights".
