For King & Country started with a name borrowed from a British battle cry, and that sense of purpose has driven everything since. The Nashville based Christian pop duo, brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, built their reputation fast after their 2012 debut Crave landed at number two on the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart and stayed on Billboard's Christian Albums chart for 41 weeks. Their second album, Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong., picked up a Grammy, and Burn the Ships went RIAA gold in 2018, with the single "God Only Knows" hitting platinum. What sets them apart in the contemporary Christian space is genuine crossover reach. Over two billion streams, appearances at the Houston Rodeo and CMA Country Christmas, and collaborations with Dolly Parton, Timbaland, Tori Kelly and Lecrae put them well outside the typical Christian music bubble. They have also moved into film, with the biographical Unsung Hero and documentary No Turning Back adding another dimension to what is already a pretty substantial body of work.
