Frances Forever

About

Also known as: Frances Elizabeth Garrett

Frances Forever is the project of Frances Elizabeth Garrett, an American bedroom pop artist whose song "Space Girl" quietly built a following before blowing up on TikTok in 2020 and racking up over 10 million streams. The track landed at number 23 on the Billboard Hot Alternative Songs chart and earned Garrett a deal with Mom + Pop Music, all off the back of a song that started as an NPR Tiny Desk Contest submission. WBUR described their songwriting as reminiscent of Sidney Gish and Clairo, cheerful sounding tunes that carry more complicated feelings underneath. Garrett released a remix of "Space Girl" featuring Chloe Moriondo in early 2021, followed by the EP Paranoia Party later that year. Their debut full length album Lockjaw arrived in June 2024, marking a real step up from the EP releases that first put them on the map. They cite Taylor Swift as a major musical inspiration, which tracks given how much emotional weight they pack into deceptively light pop songs.
