About

Also known as: Fromis 9, fr0mis_9, fromis9, 프로미스, 프로미스_9, 프로미스나인

Fromis 9 came together the way few K pop groups do: through a reality show. Idol School on Mnet let viewers vote the final nine girls into existence in 2017, and the name itself was suggested by netizens, a mix of "From Idol School" and "Promise." After a pre debut single, "Glass Shoes," they officially debuted in January 2018 with the EP To. Heart, which landed at number 4 on the Gaon Album Chart. Their career has been anything but static. They have moved between agencies several times, with Pledis Entertainment involved in training them and later taking over management in 2021. Releases like "Love Bomb," "Fun!" and "Feel Good (Secret Code)" pushed their albums higher on the charts, with Fun Factory hitting number 2. In 2021 they picked up their first music show win with "Talk & Talk." The lineup has since shrunk to five members, who released the EP From Our 20's in June 2025.
