About
Fuse ODG built his name by blending Afrobeats with hip hop, R&B, funk and rock into a sound he calls his own, something captured perfectly in his stage name: Fuse for the fusion, ODG for Off Da Ground. His 2012 track "Antenna" cracked the UK top 10 at number 7, and "Dangerous Love" featuring Sean Paul went even further, peaking at number 3 in 2014. His debut album T.I.N.A., short for This Is New Africa, brought all five of his singles together in one place and reached number 25 on the UK Albums Chart. He also made a point of turning down a spot on Band Aid 30, objecting to the way its lyrics framed the Ebola crisis and Africa as a whole. That refusal said a lot about where his head is at. Beyond music, he runs a subscription educational app called School of New Africa, aimed at connecting people of African descent with the continent's history and culture.
