Galantis is a Swedish electronic act built around producer Christian "Bloodshy" Karlsson, the same person who co wrote Britney Spears' "Toxic" and has crafted tracks for Katy Perry, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue. For most of the project's life it was a duo with Linus Eklöw, also known as Style of Eye, the producer behind Icona Pop's "I Love It". The two built a studio on a small island in the Baltic Sea and leaned hard into combining the raw energy of dance music with actual songwriting craft, starting every track on guitar or piano rather than building upwards from a loop. Their 2014 single "Runaway (U & I)" broke them internationally, hitting number one on Spotify's global viral chart and going platinum in Norway and Sweden. "Peanut Butter Jelly" and "No Money" kept the momentum going, and the act has since collaborated with everyone from Dolly Parton and OneRepublic to David Guetta and Little Mix. Eklöw stepped back after their second album The Aviary in 2017, leaving Karlsson to carry the Galantis name forward.
