Gary Clark Jr. plays guitar like he exists somewhere between Stevie Ray Vaughan and a hip hop record, pulling blues, soul, rock and roll, and R&B into something that feels entirely his own. The Austin native broke through after signing with Warner Bros. in 2011, and his major label debut Blak and Blu hit number six on the Billboard 200 while topping the Blues Albums chart. His live reputation grew just as fast, documented across two live albums and a career packed with stage appearances alongside Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, and the Foo Fighters. His cover of the Beatles' Come Together landed on the Mainstream Rock chart and featured in the Justice League soundtrack, while the raw, politically charged This Land earned him Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. His most recent album, JPEG Raw, came out in 2024.
