About
Also known as: Geraldine Estelle Halliwell, Geri, Geri 'Ginger Spice' Halliwell, Geri Haliwell, Gery Halliwell, Ginger Spice
Few pop acts define a decade quite like Geri Halliwell defined the nineties. As Ginger Spice, she was the most visible face of the Spice Girls, the best selling female group of all time with over 100 million records sold. Her Union Jack dress at the 1997 Brit Awards became one of the most iconic images in British pop history, and the group's "girl power" slogan was more closely tied to her than to any other member. After leaving the Spice Girls in 1998, she launched a solo career that landed her three UK number one singles off her debut album Schizophonic, including "Mi Chico Latino" and "Lift Me Up". Her follow up Scream If You Wanna Go Faster brought the memorable cover of "It's Raining Men" and a Brit Award nomination. She has reunited with the Spice Girls multiple times over the years, most recently for the Spice World tour in 2019. Away from music, she has sat on the judging panels of Popstars: The Rivals, The X Factor, and Australia's Got Talent, and has published books ranging from autobiography to children's fiction.
