Few Dutch rappers have left a mark quite like Gers Pardoel, the Nijmegen born MC whose single 'Ik neem je mee' became the biggest Dutch language hit by a Dutch artist in the history of the Top 40. He first caught serious attention with 'Broodje Bakpao', a collab with The Opposites that landed on the New Kids Turbo soundtrack and shot to number one in the Mega Single Top 100. His debut album Deze wereld is van jou followed in 2011, went Platinum, and showed he could hold a full project together, not just a standout track. The follow up album De toekomst is van ons kept things going, powered in part by the Platinum certified single 'Louise'. Gers has also worked with Doe Maar and collaborated with Marco Borsato, showing a willingness to move across different corners of Dutch pop. His reach extended into Belgium too, where he became a coach on the Flemish edition of The Voice Kids and later presented the Flemish version of Come Dance With Me on Play4.
