About
Few Italian artists of the 1990s crossed language borders quite like Gianluca Grignani. The Milan born singer songwriter and guitarist broke through in 1995 with his debut album Destinazione Paradiso, which shifted two million copies in under a year and earned him a Telegatto. The acoustic ballad La mia storia tra le dita hit number one across Iberoamerica and several European countries, a reach so wide that he recorded a full Spanish language version, Mi historia entre tus dedos, opening doors well beyond Italy. Over the years Grignani has put out a steady stream of albums spanning pop rock and rock en español, from La Fabbrica di Plastica in 1996 through to Una Strada in Mezzo al Cielo in 2016. He returned to the spotlight at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2023, competing with the track Quando ti manca il fiato, proving he still has plenty to say after three decades in the game.
