About
Glasperlenspiel took their name from a novel, and they made a proper splash in Germany by landing fourth at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2011 with "Echt", a song that went on to become a top ten hit. The electropop duo from Stockach, made up of vocalist Carolin Niemczyk and keyboardist Daniel Grunenberg, had already played together in an earlier band called Crazy Flowers before starting this project. Their debut album Beweg dich mit mir arrived in September 2011 and went gold in Germany. "Nie vergessen" gave them a second top ten single in 2013, the same year as their second album Grenzenlos. They returned to the Bundesvision stage in 2015 with "Geiles Leben", which hit number two in Germany and Austria and number one in Switzerland, right around the release of the album Tag X. In 2018 Niemczyk became a judge on Deutschland sucht den Superstar, and in 2020 the duo even represented Poland at the Free European Song Contest with "Immer da".
