About
Goldband took their name from a brand of stucco plaster, a nod to the trade their dads and the band members themselves worked in as plasterers. The Hague trio, Boaz Kok, Karel Gerlach and Milo Driessen, turn out slick Dutch pop with electronic and rap leanings, and Gerlach brings a techno production background to the mix. They work with producer Wieger Hoogendorp. The real breakthrough came in 2022 at Lowlands, where their set was widely rated one of the festival's best. Afterwards "Witte Was" and "Noodgeval" both climbed into the Dutch Single Top 100, and "Noodgeval" went on to the Top 40, the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 and the Flemish Ultratop 50. They followed it with "Stiekem" alongside Maan, picked up the Buma Cultuur Pop Award, and played Pinkpop and Zwarte Cross. Albums so far: Van Roulette naar Doublet, Betaalbare Romantiek and Samen Tegen Elkaar.
