About
Guy J, the Tel Aviv born and Malta based producer and DJ, has spent nearly two decades building a reputation for sets that feel less like a DJ performance and more like a single unbroken journey. His debut album Esperanza landed on John Digweed's Bedrock label in 2007, and Resident Advisor described it as a classy, ethereal blend of progressive house, techno, electro and electronica. That range never narrowed. His 2013 double EP Seven / Milestone was singled out for what one reviewer called the journey like stamina of his wide ranging bodies of work. In 2012 he launched his own imprint Lost & Found, backed by Digweed, releasing both his own material and music from producers like Sahar Z, Roy Rosenfeld and Nick Muir. His third album The Trees, The Sea and The Sun deliberately splits into an up tempo techno side and a sequence of down tempo tracks, reflecting his view that good music works on the dance floor and at home. He leans toward analogue gear wherever possible, chasing what he calls a bit dirty and warm sound.
