Henry Saiz is a Spanish DJ and producer whose sound sits at the intersection of progressive house, melodic techno and something far weirder and more cinematic than either label suggests. Before any of that, he was playing bass in the Spanish black metal band NahemaH, and that shapeshifting taste has never left him. His remix of Guy J's Lamur landed him an Essential New Tune from Pete Tong, and his Balance 019 compilation involved vinyl, cassette, reel to reel tapes and over a hundred field recordings he made as a kid. His 2013 debut album fused hypnotic house with analogue techno and retro pop, partly recorded in a remote corner of Lanzarote, and even drew on sound submissions sent in by fans. A few years later he teamed up with fellow Spanish musicians to form Henry Saiz and Band, travelling all seven continents to record the album Human, released in 2018. He also runs his own imprint, Natura Sonoris, which DJ Magazine named Best Label of 2011, and keeps side projects going under monikers including Hal Incandenza and H.Haze.
