About
Hackedepicciotto is the duo of Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto, two long time Berlin underground figures who turned their creative partnership into a full time band project around 2010. Hacke brings decades of work with Einstürzende Neubauten to the table, while de Picciotto is a multimedia artist with deep roots in the Berlin scene, known among other things for co founding the Berlin Love Parade. The two had already been collaborating for years before the band name stuck, putting together audio visual live shows and multimedia presentations, including an ambitious stage production based on H. P. Lovecraft stories that toured Europe with The Tiger Lillies. Their work together blurs the line between music and visual art, drawing on experimental and industrial influences as well as a genuinely nomadic approach to making and performing. They have travelled extensively, performing multimedia shows and running workshops on Berlin underground culture, which gives their output a restless, road worn quality that sets it apart from studio bound projects.
