Hans Theessink is a Dutch guitarist, mandolinist and bass baritone vocalist who has spent decades digging deep into Delta blues and roots music from his adopted home of Vienna. Over a catalog of 20 albums, he has built a reputation as one of Europe's most committed blues interpreters, with a sound rooted firmly in American tradition but shaped by his own songwriting. His 2012 collaboration Delta Time, recorded with gospel and blues singer Terry Evans and featuring Ry Cooder, stands out as a career highlight. The following year, Wishing Well offered a retrospective look at favorite moments across his career, alongside originals like the Mississippi flood portrait "House Up On The Hill." Live work has brought him alongside names like Tony Joe White and Schiffkowitz, showing he's as comfortable in a spontaneous jam as in the studio.
