Gothenburg's own Hardcore Superstar have been flying the flag for Swedish street metal since forming in 1997, and they've built a reputation for cranking up the heaviness with every release. Their self titled 2005 comeback album marked a turning point, drawing top reviews across Swedish press and a Grammy nomination, and the single 'Bastards' went gold and hit number 4 on the Swedish singles chart. By the time 'Dreamin' in a Casket' dropped in 2007, recorded partly at the In Flames studio, they had pushed their sound into genuinely heavier territory. Their catalogue spans eleven studio albums, moving from the action rock of their early years through the polished feel of 'Thank You (For Letting Us Be Ourselves)' to the raw, revved up energy of their street metal era. Along the way they've shared stages with Motörhead, AC/DC and Dio, even stepping in for Megadeth at a Turin show at the last minute. Singles like 'Medicate Me', 'Silence for the Peacefully' and 'We Don't Celebrate Sundays' show a band that knows how to write a hook without softening the edge.
