About
Hello I Love Dolly is a theatre show built around the life and songs of Dolly Parton. It follows her path from the Appalachian mountains of Tennessee, where her love of music took shape, to Nashville, where she started out young as a songwriter and grew into a global star. Along the way the show plays her best loved songs, including Jolene, 9 to 5, I Will Always Love You and Islands in the Stream. It isn't just a greatest hits run, though. The story also digs into Parton's personal life, her humour, her drive and her business sense, and what she has meant to other people. The thread running through it is about chasing dreams, getting past obstacles and staying true to yourself, with a lot of warmth and some tears mixed in with the music.
