Herz Ensemble is Kate Moore's own chamber music ensemble, performing her compositions alongside older works from her catalogue. Moore is an Australian Dutch composer whose music captures the quiet wonder of the natural world, with many of her pieces taking shape during long walks in nature. The ensemble's name fits neatly with her aesthetic: still, contemplative sounds that carry an outsized emotional weight. Her musical language leans toward minimalism, though the effect it produces is anything but small. She has steadily built a dedicated following drawn to her meditative approach to composition.
