Highly Suspect built their reputation the hard way, starting out as a bar cover band on Cape Cod before relocating to Brooklyn and eventually earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album with their 2015 debut, Mister Asylum. That record also put "Lydia" in the running for Best Rock Song, and it was just the beginning. Their follow up, The Boy Who Died Wolf, delivered "My Name Is Human", which hit number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart, while "Little One" peaked at number two on the same chart. Formed around twin brothers Rich and Ryan Meyer alongside frontman Johnny Stevens, the band has never been content to stay in one lane. Their third album, MCID, brought in hip hop, pop, and electropop elements, including a track with Young Thug, marking a noticeable shift from their earlier hard rock sound. They kept going from there, releasing The Midnight Demon Club in 2022 and their fifth album, As Above, So Below, in 2024.
