About
Holy Fuck built their reputation on a genuinely unusual premise: making music that sounds like electronic dance music but using no laptops, no programmed tracks, and no conventional electronic production methods. Instead, the Toronto group reaches for 35 mm film synchronizers, toy keyboards, toy phaser guns, and live instrumentation to conjure those pulsing, hypnotic textures. Pitchfork put it neatly, describing the project as an attempt to recreate modern electronic music without actually using its techniques. Over two decades of performing, they have played Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Coachella, and SXSW, and their song "Tom Tom" broke through to a wider audience when it featured in the Amazon Prime series Invincible, a connection that clearly stuck since a remix called "Tom Tom (Flaxans Version)" was created for the show's fourth season. Their fifth album Deleter came out in 2020, and their sixth, Event Beat, followed with lead single "Evie" and earned a spot on the 2026 Polaris Music Prize longlist.
