About
Also known as: Howard Capendale, Howard Carppendale, Springbock
South African born and Germany based, Howard Carpendale built one of the most consistent careers in German language pop and Schlager music, racking up 37 studio albums with most of them landing in the German Top 10. His 1979 track Nachts, wenn alles schläft was so massive it spent a full year among the 50 best selling singles in Germany, a feat that cemented his reputation as a genuine crowd favourite. He has a knack for making international hits feel at home in German, with cover versions of Ti Amo and Living Next Door to Alice among his most recognisable recordings. The Ti Amo Stereoact remix released in 2021 showed he still knows how to stay relevant, and a live version of Nachts, wenn alles schläft from his show Die Show meines Lebens appeared as recently as 2023.
