About
Also known as: Her Voice Over Boys
HVOB started out as two ex members of an Austrian band, Anna Müller and Paul Wallner, posting restrained, minimalist electronica with vocals on SoundCloud. That was enough to catch the ear of German producer Oliver Koletzki, who signed them, and before long they were playing Melt! Festival. The name stands for Her Voice Over Boys, and the Vienna duo's debut EP Dogs landed in 2012, followed by a self titled album in 2013. Their second record, Trialog, had Thump magazine tipping it as an Album of the Year contender, and they've been voted one of the best live acts in the world. They toured India, sold out the Mezzanine in San Francisco, and teamed up with Winston Marshall on 2017's Silk. Rocco followed in 2019 and TOO in 2022 on Play It Again Sam. More recently they scored the documentary To Close Your Eyes and See Fire, which won them Best Music in a Documentary Film at Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis in 2025.
