Few K pop artists carry as much individual presence as Hwasa, the South Korean singer and songwriter who first made her name as one of the lead voices of Mamamoo from 2014. Her solo debut single 'Twit' in 2019 was a statement of intent, topping all three major Gaon charts at once and landing on Billboard's critics' pick list for best K pop songs of the year. Her 2020 EP María kept the momentum going, with the title track spending 19 consecutive weeks in the K pop Hot 100 top ten and earning her a Golden Disc. After leaving RBW and signing with P Nation in 2023, she dropped 'I Love My Body', which cracked the top ten on both the Circle Digital Chart and Billboard World Digital Song Sales. Her 2025 single 'Good Goodbye' went even further, hitting number 32 on the Billboard Global 200 and sitting at number one on the Circle Digital Chart for nine weeks straight.
