About
Byron Bay metalcore outfit In Hearts Wake have been pushing heavy music in an unusually thoughtful direction since 2006. Their lyrics tackle environmentalism, conservation, global warming and spirituality, and they've backed that up with real world action, launching the We Are Waterborne Initiative to organise beach clean ups with fans in Australia and New Zealand. Six studio albums in, their catalogue runs from the ARIA charting debut Divination through to Earthwalker, which hit No. 5 on the ARIA Charts, and Ark, which debuted at No. 3. The band has shared stages with Parkway Drive, Northlane, The Amity Affliction and August Burns Red, touring North America, Europe and the UK along the way. They also teamed up with Northlane for the collaborative EP Equinox in 2016, recorded with producer Will Putney. Their most recent studio album, Incarnation, arrived in July 2024, keeping the band's run of environmentally and spiritually charged metalcore very much alive.
