Indian Askin are an Amsterdam band playing what they call nu punk, a blend of rock, punk and psychedelic sounds with clear nods to the sixties, seventies and nineties. They built serious momentum in the Netherlands pretty quickly, earning a spot on Radio 3FM's radar as a Sound of 2015 pick, getting named a 3FM Serious Talent in 2016, and taking home the Edison award for Best Newcomer in 2017. De Volkskrant also flagged them as the most promising act of that year, which is not bad going for a band still finding its footing. Their catalogue kicks off with the 2016 EP and debut album, followed by Sea of Ethanol that same year. They kept busy on the live circuit too, playing over 50 festivals in 2016 alone, including Lowlands and Best Kept Secret, plus a club tour that sold out at least ten dates. Another Round came in 2019, and Lonely Citizen followed in 2023. By October 2020 three of the four members had left, leaving vocalist Chino Ayala as the sole remaining member carrying the name forward.
