About
Also known as: Irina Rhimes
Moldovan singer songwriter Irina Rimes hit the ground running when her debut single 'Visele' shot to number one on the Romania Airplay 100 in 2016, earning her best debut of the year at the Radio România Music Awards. She followed that up fast, signing with Universal Music France and dropping her first album 'Despre el' in 2017. Since then she has built up a catalogue that now spans five albums, with 'Origini' arriving in 2024. Her reach goes well beyond her own records too: she has written songs for some of Romania's biggest names, including Inna, Andra, and Antonia. Rimes is also a familiar face on Romanian television, having spent years as one of the four coaches on the talent show Vocea României. She has been pushing her music in new directions lately, writing in French and releasing the song 'Changer', which she debuted live in France in 2023. A 2025 upload titled 'Să nu uiți cât te am iubit' suggests she is still very much active. She splits her time between Bucharest, Chișinău, and Paris.
