About
Isabel Commandeur is a Dutch vocalist whose range spans pop ballads and operatic arias, blending classical grandeur with contemporary feeling. She won the world championship in performing arts in Hollywood, a milestone that brought her international recognition, and has since appeared in major musicals and on national television, including the programmes ARIA and Omroep Max. Her live concerts often take the form of theatrical tributes, with a show dedicated to the repertoire of tenor Andrea Bocelli being a notable example. In it she channels his material through her own powerful voice, treating the songs as emotional experiences rather than technical exercises. Vocal jazz and traditional pop sit at the heart of what she does, but her classical training gives her performances a scope that crosses genre lines.
