Ishaan Ghosh carries serious musical lineage: grandson of the legendary tabla player Padmabhushan Pandit Nikhil Ghosh and grand nephew of flautist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh, he has grown into a formidable tabla player in his own right within the Farrukhabad Gharana. He trained under his father, the tabla and sitar maestro Pandit Nayan Ghosh, and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Indian classical music, including Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Jasraj, and violin legend Dr. N Rajam. Beyond his solo work, Ghosh is the driving force behind ARAJ, a collective he conceptualized that brings together a tight group of young North Indian classical musicians covering tabla, sitar, flute, sarangi, and vocals. The project reflects his interest in collaborative formats that keep the classical tradition vital without losing its depth.
