About
Also known as: James David Taylor-Watts, James Taylor-Watts
James TW built his fanbase the old fashioned internet way, posting covers on YouTube as a teenager from Warwickshire, and it paid off when Shawn Mendes stumbled across his channel and shouted him out on Twitter. That one tweet caught the attention of Island Records, who signed him, and by 2016 his breakout single "When You Love Someone" had racked up over 60 million Spotify streams and hit number 28 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs chart. He toured as the sole opening act on the sold out Shawn Mendes World Tour, then again on the European leg of the Illuminate World Tour. His debut album Chapters arrived in 2019, followed by the EP Heartbeat Changes (Part 1) and then the full second album Heartbeat Changes in 2022. The project blends his acoustic roots with a polished singer songwriter sound. More recently he dropped "Speechless" in late 2023, showing he is still very much active and evolving as an artist.
