A Night with Janis is a tribute show built around the music and life of Janis Joplin, fronted by singer Kira Kool. Rather than a polished recreation, the show leans into the raw, unfiltered energy that defined Joplin herself. Kool doesn't just perform the songs, she inhabits them, bringing the chaos and hunger of Joplin's persona to the stage. The set draws from the classic canon: Me and Bobby McGee, Piece of My Heart, Mercedes Benz, Ball and Chain, Cry Baby. Woven through the music is the story of Joplin's journey, her search for acceptance, her loves, her contradictions. There's a quietly feminist thread running through it all, treating the harder parts of Joplin's life not as rock mythology but as pieces of a genuinely complicated human story.
