Jared James Nichols plays electric guitar with no pick, and that alone sets him apart from just about everyone working in blues rock today. The Wisconsin born, Los Angeles based guitarist built his sound around the raw, heavy end of early 1970s rock, drawing comparisons to Cream and Mountain, and he channels all of that through a single pickup Les Paul he calls Old Glory. His full length debut Old Glory and The Wild Revival was produced by Warren Huart and Eddie Kramer, and his second album Black Magic followed in 2017. Singles like Nails in the Coffin and Threw Me To The Wolves both premiered on BBC Radio 2 and picked up serious rotation on UK rock radio. He has shared stages with Joe Bonamassa, Billy Gibbons, Slash, Steve Vai, and Peter Frampton, and toured alongside Blue Öyster Cult, Glenn Hughes, Living Colour, and Zakk Wylde among others. In 2021, Gibson named him one of just four global ambassadors for the brand, alongside Slash, Lzzy Hale, and Dave Mustaine. That same year he released the single Skin n Bone and the EP Shadow Dancer, showing no signs of slowing down.
