Guitarist Jelle Roozenburg works at the intersection of jazz, improvisation and composition, often alongside tabla player Tarang Poddar. Their music pulls Indian rhythms into conversation with beats, breaks and drones, and the interplay between the two tends to oscillate between controlled tension and sudden stillness. It is music that resists staying in one place. Roozenburg is based in Rotterdam and regularly collaborates with other artists to blur the lines between acoustic and electronic sound. His performances lean heavily on real time improvisation, giving each concert its own shape depending on who is in the room and what happens between the musicians in the moment.
