Jesse McCartney built his pop career on a knack for catchy hooks and smart songwriting that often went unnoticed behind his teen idol image. His 2004 debut Beautiful Soul went platinum and hit number 15 on the Billboard 200, but the bigger story is what he was doing behind the scenes. He co wrote "Bleeding Love" with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, originally intended for his own album, then handed it to Leona Lewis, who turned it into a worldwide smash nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammys. His third album Departure marked a real shift in sound, leaving behind the clean cut pop of his early work for more mature territory. The lead single "Leavin'" cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became his best selling song. Beyond music, McCartney has a substantial voice acting resume, bringing characters like Theodore in the Alvin and the Chipmunks films and Dick Grayson in Young Justice to life. His most recent album, New Stage, came out in 2021.
