Joël Borelli is a Dutch entertainer from Eindhoven who works at the intersection of cabaret and music. In his solo show Joie de Vivre he performs from behind the piano, weaving together sharp humour, original songs and personal stories that shift between touching and surprising. The show is developed with director Ruut Weissman, who has worked with names like Peter Pannekoek, Paul de Leeuw, Acda en de Munnik and Simone Kleinsma, and who also has musical theatre credits to his name. That collaboration gives Borelli's work a polished theatrical backbone while leaving plenty of room for his own distinct voice and energy.
