About
Josua Peter blends folk, indie and pop into something that can feel both intimate and expansive, built around a voice with a four octave range that carries his songs from quiet verses into soaring choruses. His lyrics tend to start personal and land somewhere universal, circling themes of belonging, growing older and the need for someone who sticks around when things get hard. That emotional honesty runs through his debut single Bones, in which he imagines being old and frail with one simple hope: that someone will be standing beside him. The song earned a Radio 2 Topsong, a 3FM Megahit and a 3FM Talent nomination following his performance at Noorderslag. As a Dutch South African singer songwriter, Peter draws on the tension between two very different cultures. His first EP took him to festivals including Paaspop, Concert at SEA and Appelpop. His second EP, Closer Than You Think, marks a shift: the lead single Floating shows an artist writing less from a place of searching and more from what he has found along the way.
