About
JP, full name John Paul Lam, is an American singer and songwriter who built much of his early career as a go to collaborator in the J pop and K pop worlds. Before going solo, he worked as a backup vocalist for artists including Jordin Sparks, and had a composition picked up by TVXQ as early as 2007. That success pulled him toward Asia, and by 2009 he had relocated to Tokyo to work closely with the beloved R&B singer Misia. His partnership with Misia produced a string of notable tracks across her albums Just Ballade and Soul Quest, including co writing her contribution to the official 2010 FIFA World Cup album. He even performed live on her Soul Quest tour. In 2012, JP made his solo debut on Avex Group with "Boku ni Invitation", the opening theme for the anime Shirokuma Cafe, giving his voice a spotlight all its own.
