About

Also known as: Jonathan Percy Starker Saxe

JP Saxe has one of those songs that genuinely stopped people in their tracks: "If the World Was Ending", his 2019 collaboration with Julia Michaels, cracked the top 30 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and the Billboard Hot 100, and took on a whole new weight when a star studded charity version was released in 2020 to support Doctors Without Borders. The Toronto singer, who happens to be the grandson of classical musician János Starker, writes with a confessional intimacy that suits his knack for emotionally loaded titles like "Sad Corny Fuck" and "Hey Stupid, I Love You". His debut studio album Dangerous Levels of Introspection arrived in 2021, followed by his sophomore album A Grey Area on Arista Records in 2023. That same year he co wrote "I Don't Miss You" with John Mayer and contributed to a charity recording of Serena Ryder's "What I Wouldn't Do" in support of youth mental health. His song "Same Room" was shortlisted for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize, which says a lot about the craft behind the catchy.
