Junior Tucker had his first taste of success absurdly young, scoring a number one hit in Jamaica at just seven years old with "Happy" and earning the nickname the Jamaican Michael Jackson. He performed the song at the One Love Peace Concert in 1978, and went on to record the original version of "Mr. Telephone Man" in 1983, a song that became a Top 20 Billboard hit for New Edition the following year. His own composition "Don't Test" landed him a Virgin Records deal and charted in the UK in 1990, and he also found particular success in Australia with his reggae take on "Into the Night". After returning to Jamaica and embracing dancehall, he scored a number one in 1993 with "Love of a Lifetime". Tucker later became a born again Christian and shifted his focus entirely to gospel and Christian reggae, releasing several albums in that vein including Sold Out and Victory.
