About
Kadavar are a Berlin trio turned quartet who sound like they raided a 1970s record shop and came out with the heaviest bits. Think Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Hawkwind and The Doors, filtered through psychedelic rock, stoner rock and a doomy, riff heavy swagger. In the studio they use hard panning, guitars left, bass right, drums on the inside right, vocals dead centre, to recreate what they sound like on stage. They started in 2010 with Lupus on guitar and vocals, Tiger on drums and Mammut on bass, then Simon "Dragon" Bouteloup took over bass in 2013. Abra Kadavar, their second album, landed on Nuclear Blast and charted in Germany, and Berlin followed in 2015. They also teamed up with Elder for ELDOVAR, run their own label Robotor Records, and added guitarist and keyboardist Jascha Kreft in 2023. I Just Want to Be a Sound arrived in 2025.
