Kailee Morgue

About

Kailee Morgue built her fanbase the old fashioned way, posting covers on YouTube from late 2015, before a viral tweet preview of her track "Medusa" caught fire in early 2017 and landed her a deal with Republic Records. That song set the tone for a whole Greek mythology thread running through her early work, followed up by the single "Siren" the same year. Highsnobiety pegged her sound as a goth and punk hybrid, while Atwood Magazine described her singing as "like a dream within a nightmare," which honestly nails it. MTV called her an emerging pop star after her Medusa EP dropped in 2018. Since then she has kept expanding her range, releasing the EP Here in Your Bedroom in 2020 and her debut album Girl Next Door in 2022. Singles like "Headcase" with Hayley Kiyoko and "Butterflies" show she can do gothic pop edge and something more vulnerable in equal measure. She is based in Los Angeles and counts Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne among her influences.
