About
Kaitlin Butts came up through the red dirt scene in Oklahoma before planting her flag in Nashville, and her third album Roadrunner! is the record that put her on a much bigger map. Released in 2024 on Republic Records, it was inspired by the Broadway musical Oklahoma! and pulls in some serious collaborators, with Vince Gill lending guest vocals, Natalie Hemby and Angaleena Presley among the songwriters, and covers ranging from Cher's 1966 classic "Bang Bang" to Kesha's "Hunt You Down". Rolling Stone ranked it the fourth best country and Americana album of 2024. The album kept giving after release too. "You Ain't Gotta Die (to Be Dead to Me)" went viral on TikTok after landing on a Paramount+ series called Landman, debuting on the Billboard Country Airplay chart more than a year after the song first came out. That momentum led to a five song EP called Yeehaw Sessions on Republic, featuring takes on Jimmy Eat World, Chappell Roan, and the Chicks. She also won a 2024 Ameripolitan Award for Best Honky Tonk Female.
