About
Kat Edmonson has a knack for making old school pop feel fresh. She calls the sound of her second album, Way Down Low, "vintage pop", a blend of folk, jazz, rock, pop and country leanings. That record came out after a successful Kickstarter campaign, drew warm reviews from The New York Times and NPR, and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Her third album, The Big Picture, did the same on Sony Masterworks. She started out self releasing her 2009 debut, Take to the Sky, which cracked the Billboard jazz chart's Top 20. Lyle Lovett picked her as his opening act, and they sang Baby, It's Cold Outside together on The Tonight Show. Her voice has turned up on screen too, including a nightclub singer role in Woody Allen's Café Society and a spot for her song If in Russian Doll. More recent records include Old Fashioned Gal, Dreamers Do and a Christmas album, Holiday Swingin'!
