KAYTRANADA built his reputation the hard way, grinding through SoundCloud remixes and mixtapes before his Janet Jackson rework blew up in 2013 and put him on everyone's radar. The Haitian Canadian producer and DJ signed to XL Recordings in 2014 and dropped his debut album 99.9% in 2016, a genre hopping record that pulled in GoldLink, Anderson.Paak, Syd, and AlunaGeorge, among others. It won the Polaris Music Prize and scored an 8.0 from Pitchfork. His follow up, Bubba, landed in 2019 and ended up winning two Grammys including Best Dance/Electronic Album, making KAYTRANADA the first Black producer and first openly gay artist to take home that award. Since then he has kept busy with a joint album called Kaytraminé alongside Aminé, featuring Pharrell Williams, Freddie Gibbs, and Snoop Dogg, then a third solo effort Timeless in 2024 with Childish Gambino and PinkPantheress in tow.
