Often called the Princess of Hip Hop Soul, Keyshia Cole carved out a lane in contemporary R&B with her raw, emotionally direct vocals and deeply personal songwriting. Her 2005 debut The Way It Is went platinum and broke into the top 10 of the Billboard 200, with the hit "Love" announcing her as a serious force. The follow up, Just Like You, pushed even harder, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200 and going platinum, powered by three number one R&B singles including "Let It Go" with Lil' Kim and Missy Elliott. Cole has never been just a recording artist. She has juggled her music with a string of BET reality shows, a stint on Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood, and more recently a talk show on Fox Soul called One on One with Keyshia Cole. She also launched her own independent imprint, Hearts and Stars, in partnership with BMG, and in 2023 executive produced and starred in a Lifetime biographical film about her own life. Four of her albums after Just Like You all debuted in the Billboard 200 top 10, a run that speaks for itself.
