Kiana Ledé has a way of making R&B feel deeply personal without losing the polish. The Phoenix born singer and actress built her following through "Soulfood Sessions", a cover series she created with production duo Rice N' Peas that racked up millions of views and eventually caught the ear of Republic Records. Her cover of Drake's "Hotline Bling" was apparently the clincher. Her 2018 EP Selfless introduced the single "Ex", which went platinum and peaked at number 9 on the US R&B Songs chart, and her debut album KIKI arrived in 2020 with features from Ari Lennox and 6LACK, debuting at number 30 on the Billboard 200. Outside the studio, she played Zoe Vaughn on MTV's Scream and starred in the Netflix series All About the Washingtons. Her second album Grudges followed in 2023, and she dropped a third album, Cut Ties, in 2024 after leaving Republic Records.
