Kidneythieves are a Los Angeles industrial rock duo built around vocalist Free Dominguez and guitarist/engineer Bruce Somers. Their sound pulls from alternative and industrial rock, and they have kept a revolving cast of session players and live musicians around them since forming in 1997. Their debut album Trickster landed in 1998, and their song "Before I'm Dead" got a major boost when it appeared on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack in 2002. That same year they put out Zerøspace, still probably their most recognised record. Beyond their own releases, Kidneythieves have threaded through some surprising corners of pop culture. Tracks from Trickster were used in the video game Deus Ex: Invisible War, with Dominguez voicing an in game pop star. Free also sang on the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance soundtrack in 2013. After a hiatus the pair reunited, releasing Trypt0fanatic in 2010 and later crowdfunding their fourth album The Mend, which came out in 2016.
