About
Also known as: Die Killerpilze
Killerpilze, which translates to Killer Mushrooms, are a pop punk and pop rock group from Dillingen an der Donau in Germany, and their name reportedly came out of a pizza night. Signed to Universal Music, their 2006 album Invasion der Killerpilze cracked the top ten in Germany and Austria, and the debut single Richtig Scheisse gave them a proper chart foothold. Their follow up, Mit Pauken und Raketen, landed at number 14 on the German charts in 2007. They also contributed music to German film soundtracks, including the Vorstadtkrokodile series. After parting ways with Universal, they launched their own imprint, KillerpilzeRecords, in 2010 and have been putting out music on their own terms since. Their catalogue spans a good stretch of German pop punk, from punchy guitar tracks to more melodic pop rock, with lyrics written by Schlichter and Halbig.
